We joined cross fitness about three months ago and it is hard to begin to describe how unique and exceptional this gym is to any other that we have ever experienced.Unlike most other fancy gyms where you walk in and get lost in all of the high tech gear and shiny tinsel, this club is simple and sincere. You don't just simply go aimlessly from one station to another trying to figure out which work out to do for that day with your head set blaring music marking the time and pacing yourself until you are done.At cross fitness the experience is extremely unique. You experience camaraderie and teamwork from the moment you walk in the door to the time that you finish an exhausting work out. What is really cool is that you don't have to fumble for a work out, because a wod (work out of the day) is chosen for you and clearly posted on the wall. You know that the queasy feeling you get when you see a name on the board like helen, fran, kelly or a fight gone bad, is exactly the same queasy feeling that every other member has felt or will feel before the day is over.As our pastor ken peters (who is also a member) says, this gym is not weak sauce and is probably not for everyone. The beauty of it is that if you are committed to getting healthy, this is definitely the club for you.The inspiration that gets you through a work out is a combination of wanting to get the lowest time or wanting to better your last mark and sometimes just getting through the challenging work out. This pursuit is perfectly complimented by the encouragement of not just the exceptional owners mike and angela but also the other trainers and all of the other members of the gym.It is this sense of extended family and cohesion that makes the experience one of a kind. The inspirational quotes on the walls and the progress reports give us a sense of encouragement and satisfaction of accomplishment. In just three months we have sincerely seen a great improvement to our physiques, our endurance and mobility, but most importantly, we have seen a significant change in our attitudes towards our health, and for that, we are truly grateful.Like many other procrastinators who have fallen in and out of shape, we kept making excuses as to why we didn't join a gym. I am very grateful to god that cross fitness kicked us off of the couch and into shape. We are hooked and sincerely believe that anyone who gives it a chance would also be hooked.Thank you for everything,

My husband and i joined crossfit on january 15, 2007 and it was the best decision we've ever made for our health. We've had so much fun working out and have never seen these kinds of results! In 8 months i've lost 18lbs and 4 inches off my waist. My husband has lost 20 lbs and 3 1/2 inches off his waist. The workout is never boring, mike and angela are an inspiration and it's like having a personal trainer. If you join and stick with it you will not regret it.

"What can i say- crossfit is transforming! I can't list all the positive results of doing crossfit on one page. Everything that's on the wall: endurance, stamina, strength, power, speed, agility, coordination, balance, accuracy and flexibility- all of it has increased in me. I've been doing crossfit for 8 months and i'll be doing it for the rest of my life. Thanks mike and angela for bringing crossfit to this community. I feel like i can do anything thanks to crossfit!"

I understand that there are many positive things to be said about crossfit spokane but being part of crossfit has also caused me some unexpected problems. I blame crossfit for not being able to sit through a whole day of work because i have too much energy. Because of crossfit i have to get new dress shirts because my shoulders have become too muscular and my shoulders have broadened. Crossfit has caused me to have nothing to talk about when people are discussing their favorite tv shows because i am too busy being active to watch the shows that i wouldn't be watching anyway. Crossfit has made band-aid and duct tape regular parts of my workout routine, costing me at a whole $4.00 extra a week which could have been spent on hair supplies. Thanks to angela and mike i get teased by my coworkers when i chew on tofu or apples for a snack rather than the more common candy or pastries, or appear antisocial when i bail out on after work drinks and appetizers to get my social hour with heavy weights and stopwatches. And that is the whole problem. Everyday when i have to jump up and stretch out my sore legs, or stand at my desk because i just can't handle sitting anymore, people just don't understand. I no longer fit in, not enough talk about dance shows, drink specials, or relaxing weekend. And i blame crossfit for not caring about fitting in. I blame crossfit for looking forward to saturdays spent sweaty and broken and for being proud of the blisters forming on my hands. I may not fit in really, i'm pretty sure i wouldn't want to.
