I joined CrossFit Spokane in April 2011 after being persuaded by my sister. I was four weeks postpartum from having my second daughter. During both of my pregnancies I had gained 80lbs and was left with about 50 extra pounds on me that needed to go. I have literally tried almost every diet and never saw any results. I would go to the gym but never really know what to do in order to achieve the results I so desperately wanted. After the one trial workout, I was hooked. I began training only about 2-3 times per week. I felt so heavy and weak but that rapidly changed. Nine months later I am almost 50lbs lighter and train about 5-6 days per week. I continue to grow in strength and endurance. I have never felt so healthy, energized and strong. Mike and Angela Gerry have helped change my life.
Thank you CrossFit Spokane!

I was convinced by my wife to try CrossFit in the late summer of 2011. I was skeptic from the beginning and didn’t know what I was getting into. My first workout at CrossFit Spokane was Fran, enjoyable to say the least. After not being able to walk for the next two days I was hooked. Sounds strange that something that put me into such dire areas of pain would become something highly addictive. I was looking for an outlet for the competitive spirit in me and this is certainly it. You depend on yourself and your drive to compete and do better. I have gained 12 pounds in about 5 months and continuously increase my weights on all lifts. Mike and Angela have given me an awesome opportunity to get healthier fit and happy.

I first started my Crossfit journey during September of 2011. The first time coming was insane as it was two workouts in one. Let’s just say that I was the last to finish, but at least I finished. I felt so broke down and beat up that I went home and cried. I have always been somewhat athletic and competitive, but I realized just how out of shape I was (even after playing roller derby). From that point on I made it my goal to get back into the best shape of my life. I have only been here for a few short months, but those months have changed me both physically and mentally. I have become addicted to the workouts and CrossFit Spokane. The people and atmosphere are so much fun. Thanks Mike and Angela for being such awesome mentors and coaches!

After months of doing the machines at the gym and getting NO results, my husband told me to go to CrossFit Spokane. I knew after the first day and being worn out by the warm-up, this was going to be GREAT! And I was right! The owners and trainers are AMAZING! The members are motivating and you become family.
I got pregnant two months after joining with my third baby and I continued to do CrossFit throughout my entire pregnancy until Roman was born. I can’t even begin to tell you how easy it was bouncing back to “pre-pregnancy” body, not to mention how healthy I looked and felt during.
I recommend anyone and everyone to come in and give it a try. I guarantee you will love it and will never go to another gym again. I know I won’t!

I was first started CrossFit in the summer of 2011. I was a college soccer player and I was looking to improve my performance as an overall athlete. I had no idea what CrossFit even was and when my dad and I first came to Mike and Angela’s CrossFit gym, I was in for the workout of my life. Although the first day was just a basic “Beginners” WOD of a 400 meter run, box jumps, pull-ups, sit-ups etc. The next day I could barely move I was so sore, but I came back anyways. It was only my first week at the gym when Memorial day weekend came around. That Saturday we did a WOD called “Fender” which contained 300 reps of wall balls, kettle bells swings, pull-ups, pushups, box jumps and to finish it off an awesome ruck and run. After finishing that workout, I was absolutely exhausted and maybe a little insane, but the feeling of accomplishment was worth every rep and every sore muscle. I worked my butt off that summer, hitting the gym every day, sometimes twice a day and was rewarded for all my hard work with an excellent season of soccer. I came into training camp strong. I played college soccer for the Whitworth Women’s soccer team and am proud to say played and started almost every game. I continue to participate in CrossFit, I hardly miss a day. I am in the best shape of my life. CrossFit is the hardest thing anyone will probably ever do, but never set limitations to yourself and never say you cannot jump that 30 inch box or power clean, bench press, pull-ups etc. Because you can! Get off the couch and go do CrossFit! It will change your life…It changed mine. GO GET JACKED!!!!!!!

I just wanted share the progress I’ve made so far with CrossFit Spokane and their Paleo/Transformation Challenge, because I’m stunned and want to stress that the scale is not your friend. I have only lost 3lbs since Feb 12th (posted March 24th, 2012), but I’ve lost 17 inches total! My deadlift has increased by 40lbs, my thrusters have went from 45lbs to 95lbs, bench press has went up 30lbs, I’ve went from a 20″ box to a 30″ box and feel amazing! I hope that everyone has been keeping track of their inches!
